There are models that whip the automotive industry into a frenzy and that also leave a lasting impression even decades later. These definitely include the 600 model, that came off the production line between 1963 and 1991 and which caused a veritable sensation at its presentation at the International Motor Show Frankfurt in September 1963. Ultimately, the saloon was designed as an exclusive prestige vehicle and, as the new top-of-the-line model, was fitted as standard with unique technical special features according to the state of the art of the day. As the drive, a V8 injection engine was used for the first time that had an instant appeal with its 6.3 l displacement and a maximum output of 250 hp. Together with the built-in automatic transmission, the model achieved sports car-like performance of over 205 km/h. The series production of the “Grand Mercedes”, as the 600 model was also known, finally began in September 1964 and, besides the five- to six-seater saloon, also included other variants. And even as a miniature 1:18-scale model, the 600 Pullman Saloon W 100 still even today sets the collector’s pulse racing. Ultimately, the hand-assembled precision model is made up of over 378 separate parts and 157 print and decorative features and is finished in the authentic paintwork colour. You can also look forward to the accurately replicated interior details, such as a high-quality decorated interior as well as a flocked interior and boot floor. Six parts of the model – doors, bonnet and boot lid – also open. In the boot you will also find six suitcases in different sizes. The spare wheel stowage compartment in the boot also opens. A steering axle and axle suspension perfectly round off the equipment of the model car, which is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging. The packaging also includes a glove so that you can remove the precision model from the packaging without leaving fingerprints on the windows or the painted bodywork.
